On 17th Jan, the graduation ceremony of “CAMPUS Asia” was held in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. 30 students from China, Japan and South Korea become the first graduates.
The “CAMPUS Asia” program was jointly initiated by China, Japan and S.Korea, with about 30 universities constituting 10 project entities. Three universities, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (China), Ritsumeikan University (Japan) and Dongseo University (South Korea) jointly applied for the pilot program, which started operation in 2012. For the program, 10 students from each university were selected every year.
It’s reported that the number of students in this project will be doubled to 20 from each universities in the future. Although the first graduates have not yet received a multi-school’s degree, from next year, the graduates are expected to receive a multi-school diploma.
Guangdong has a long history of educational cooperation with foreign countries. In recent years, the cooperations have further upgraded from short term visits and exchange programs to co-building industry-university-research bases. The new type of cooperation further participates in the social development of Guangdong.
